This is why doing a strand test is important
So yesterday after taking a picture with my classmates something snapped inside me and I really couldn’t take my hair color anymore. Thankfully my order of pravana vivids (in the color silver) came in the mail the same day. The mailman was pretty funny actually. Last month I moved a few blocks away into a cheaper apartment, so I have the same mailman. He recognized me and was like “OH! You moved?! You used to live at *old address*, right?” He’s always surprised that I’m home to answer the door, too haha.
Anyway I did a strand test and realized it was only going to ashen my hair a tad but have no real effect on the color so I walked over to Olive Young. There were a couple of brands on sale and I couldn’t figure out which one would be better so I grabbed both Freshlight Mirror Ash and Pudding Hair Color in Ash blond.
Tested both of those and dude, the Pudding Hair Color turned my hair GREEN. Which you know, is cool, but not what I wanted at all (my guess is that my hair was too yellowish…). The Mirror Ash came out much nicer so I threw that on and the final result wasn’t terrible, but still a little uneven in coloring. That’s not surprising because I’ve read that happens often with the freshlight brand.
So afterrrrrr I put on the pravana without diluting it. It’s not supposed to damage your hair so I wasn’t worried about killing my hair. As of now my hair is grey mixed with ashy blond and ya know, its much closer to what I wanted then what I got at that salon (….which I still have to make a review about…) so I’m content.
Actually if I didn’t care about the quality of my hair I would have put on the Pudding first followed by the Freshlight and then the Pravana because the piece I put the pudding color on first came out to be a really nice slate grey. Definitely don’t recommend doing that though.
