Been trying to take my kids to @southernbellefarm to pick strawberries 🍓 but the patch has been closed to allow the berries to ripen. We finished our evening picking strawberries 🍓 at dad’s house. There are so many right now! He picked 2 lbs yesterday and we picked even more today. The ones in the store can’t compare to these! They’re so good! 🍓 mom’s peonies are in their prime right now too - the branches are on the ground due to the flowers being so heavy and the air smells like perfume! They’re gorgeous! June is wonderful in North Dakota. I just wish mom had lived to see the strawberries produce fruit - she never could get them to. And then, a few years back, they just started to! Fresh picked strawberries, anyone? I have a few *interesting* berries, as you might notice. The larger ones I hand pollinated. My strawberry plants are currently being raised in my greenhouse, and a few bugs managed to pollinate the smaller berries, but not completely!
