(con't) Just like Shepard is an example of an organic with synthetic traits (physical enhancements and her integration into the ship's community), EDI is a synthetic with organic traits (free thought, free will, the drive to determine who she is as a unique, ethical individual while still remaining true to her coding). I guess I'd like to think of them both as blueprints, but in different ways? Case studies, I guess - trial runs to show that synthetic and organic life is not incompatible.

Now that's cool! That makes a lot of sense to me, especially with EDI's emphasized importance in the endgame choices -- kill her, leave her unchanged, or let her be "alive." 

Oh man, and now another flood of EDI feels. "I am alive, and I am not alone." For the first time, the people around her are like her.

I'm a bit of an over-optimist who JUST finished the series, but I like the idea of Synthesis making everybody more aware of each other as people by removing the synthetic/organic gap, rather than changing at the base level who individuals are? Otherwise there's just too much morality squick to wrap my head around. Also I have the headcannon that Joker's hat actually IS attached now, but it takes him days to notice because he simply NEVER TAKES IT OFF anyways.

I'm thinking something along the same lines. The epilogue suggests that the organics at least do undergo some change at the genetic level, but I imagine what that entails (besides sparkly green stuff) is basically hooking everyone up to a kind of biological extranet which functions sort of like telepathy. Maybe. That's the best I can think of right now. 

Where does that leave synthetics though? It really doesn't even suggest how they change. Organics with cybernetics make more sense, because we already do that to an extent in real life, but how would you even begin to incorporate organic stuff into a synthetic?

I play the “lazy college gal” card and just tote a backpack around 24/7 because purses are a pain in the ASS. Oops.

I normally do that too (which works out well because I'm usually toting around two cameras), but I'm going to a concert later and they're stupidly picky with what kind of bags you can bring in.  Hence me tearing apart my room for a specific purse that I don't hate entirely.
