freya: so... children, huh?

fallon: yeah, maisie and silas. maisie’s over there playing with janie and silas is asleep in his crib. i guess you want an explanation, huh?

freya: just a little bit.

kotone: i can’t believe we won’t be in school anymore soon...

freya: right? it’s all we’ve known, really. it’s going to be so weird.

kotone: i know, but i’m also kinda... excited?

freya: ( giggles ) so am i.

freya: if only fern wasn’t all the way in selvadorada... i wonder if she’ll be home in time for winterfest.

fallon: who knows? half the time i never know if she’s even in the same country as us or not.

freya: so you took them in without a second thought, right? that’s just like the responsible older sister i know.

fallon: i’m milliseconds older than you.

freya: still older and more responsible. how’s... how are they taking it? the kids, i mean.

kotone: i’ll probably confront kaz and kyo about it later... maybe.

freya: i... i know i won’t.

freya holds her head in her hands, fingers rubbing her forehead, as if she’s trying to get rid of a headache.

freya: ‘cause they’re right, i’m so worried. i hope ty’s okay... and his grandma...

fallon: silas is just an infant, and maisie... well, the two of them just lived with their babysitter most of the time, so they honestly weren’t that attached, at least according to the prosecutors.

freya: wow... that’s insane. i stress about leaving janie with the babysitter for two hours, let alone overnight.

fallon: right? hopefully living with me will make things a bit easier on them, and i’ll be able to work from home, too, so that helps. i just hope i don’t mess up.
