🐱 F R E Y A & T H E C O N E This poor girl! She has been through a lot in the last three weeks! 😰 📆 February 9, 2022 — Freya went to the vet for a #TeethCleaning, and ended up having to have two teeth extracted! 😭 They we’re abscess, and there was nothing we could do to save them. I’ve been doing yearly teeth cleaning’s for her, because she has signs of gingivitis. 🤦🏻♀️ Poor girlie. 📆 February 25, 2022 — After a two week wet diet, Freya had just started eating some dry food again. However, on Thursday, February 24th, I noticed that #FreyaTheCat started feeling a little lethargic. On Friday the 25th, she was definitely not feeling well. I was just keeping an eye on her. Earlier in the day, I cleaned up some blood on the carpet, and I was concerned. I didn’t know which cat the blood was from. Late, Friday night (probably 9:50pm), Freya was starting to feel a little cuddly, and that’s when I saw a wound on her chin/neck! 😳😭 I definitely freaked out, gave myself an #AnxietyAttack, and cried… I called the vet and they said it could be a #HotSpot — which is when moisture gets trapped between the fur and skin, making it itchy. 📆 February 26, 2022 — I woke up and called the vet, was on the phone a bit…and was going to wait until Monday, March 1st, to take her to the vet to check the “hot spot”. 😭 However, I just had a #GutFeeling that something else was off. Freya just wasn’t herself at all! Her face was a little swollen, and I just couldn’t wait another two days! I took an #EmergencyVetAppointment & took Freya back to the vet. After the appointment it turned out Freya had an abscess wound! 😰 The doctor and I tried to figure out how she got the wound… ❌ It was not from our other cats. — They may not be #besties but they’re not aggressive in any way. ❌ It’s not related to her teeth cleaning and teeth extractions. — If it was, I would have seen more signs around her jaw. It had to have been accidentally self inflicted, maybe by scratching/cleaning herself or from around the condo. The doctor said, “It’s a good thing you brought her in, she’s got a temperature and she definitely has some swelling which isn’t normal.” 👇🏻Continued in comments.
