It's been a minute, here's 5 on Friday.

Crossing my fingers I don't get a meeting invite to go the refinery today. I'd much rather just WFH and wait for the USA v Australia game to start. 😬

My therapist was on vacation last week. Looking forward to going over the mistake I made this week, but hey at least there is clarity.

Although Toy Story 5 is out this week, there is no movie for the bromate and I will be seeing this weekend. I'll watch it when it gets to streaming. Supergirl nextg week though? So there.

I have prepaid for an early birthday gift for myself (I deserve it) and am absolutely excited to see how it all comes out.

I had the strangest series of dreams last night/this morning, I don't know what the fuck my brain was doing. Not bad, just weird.

friday five

1) the client observed Juneteenth as a holiday. we get extra floating holidays to use for any holidays that they observe that the corporate overlords do not. it's nice to not have to think about work today

2) I successfully performed the Epley maneuver on my right ear since the room hasn't been spinning when I move my head to the right. it was terrifying when it first happened to me in MI in my late 20s but now that I know what it is I just do my PT exercises. This one repositions the crystals. There's another that trains your brain to adjusting to the dizziness.

3) finished my rewatch of sharp objects yesterday, have moved on to book, and watching did give me some kinda expected but unexpected grief bouts. my sister was still alive when I first watched it and I honestly don't think I could've rewatched it until now. the screen grabs I posted this morning are for one exchange of dialogue I had forgotten about but likely never will again.

4) this is often how I message in teams at work. capitalization is sporadic. it very likely used to annoy my predecessor when he was training me. this is probably just extremely latent rebellion towards being an english major or it's the descriptive part of the linguistics major that won kinda 😁

5) the connection point to the washer hoses was SO NASTY. I don't know what the prior owners did but there was mud (???) and lint and pieces of drywall around the faucets and around whatever you call this piece.

a good 30 minutes was spent by yours truly with qtips and a dental pick set the tall one has for projects like this. I'm glad I did because it was one less annoying thing for the guys to deal with since the connection points were so rusty that they struggled removing them. but look! new hoses and ta-daah!

Friday 5

- Just had a zoom with one of my project co-workers and the industry leader with whom we are working; And you know that vibe someone puts off when they are in over their head? And the "pretty sure you've got 18 months or less before you are fired" scent? Yeah, he wore it like a stinky cologne.

-In other business related news, I still have a job, but who knows when we are restarting. But the parts to fix some of the major problems have arrived. Our major suppliers have been on-site, and plans are being floated. I mean, I'm not really wanting to go back yet but my patience got me like...

- Did yall hear that somebody dumped 3-400 pounds of pasta in the woods in New Jersey and didn't have the courtesy to leave any marinara or garlic bread?

The nerve of some people!!!!!! Not that I could eat much of it. Or much of anything, for that matter...

- I think buggy and I are going to go to free swim at the Y this weekend. I bought a swim suit, he has a swimsuit, so it should be kinda fun. We got the plane tickets for my brother's wedding(another story for another time: let's just say I'm traveling with an very anxious traveler and a 4 year old, so while I love them dearly and will do my best to "keep them within the navagational beacons"...

I may require a beverage after the fact. Or 3.

- At any rate, I think H's son and his lovely family are coming over tonight for enchiladas, so I'm headed out to find an avocado. These kids are just wonderful people, and it makes me happy to know I can count them in my family. I may not have a lot, but...

Every time I get to watch this little monster run around with his nephew, I smile and realize im surrounded by abundance, which includes yall too!!! Much love!!!

Friday 5

I thought I bought 20 pounds of freeze-dried insects to feed the chickens (yah, gross I know) but instead I bought 20 pounds of food to feed pet insects. Who even knew that was a thing? It’s good for feeding Hissing Cockroaches, Specialty Crickets, etc. EEK!

My favorite flirty butcher is back at the grocery store. I haven’t seen him since the whole cancer thing started back in November and now look like an alien, so that was fun. He said What happened? And I said What do you mean? Oh, you don’t like my summer hair choice? We both laughed. I told him I had cancer and then the woman he was helping got all pissy that he was chatting. At least he’s still around.

The peacock molting has started, every day I go out and find feathers strewn about the yard, so far they are shorter feathers, the tallest is maybe a meter tall. I've been putting them in a vase. I posted something on FB and now a bunch of people want them. When they asked why I don’t keep them, I have nowhere to store them, plus, I have the live birds draped around the yard, I don’t need a bunch of their feathers.

This morning a friend from Australia contacted me, she will be heading to a conference in Mexico two weeks after I head to Cuba, we're trying to arrange to meet up in the Caribbean so we can travel together between her trip and mine. Yay!

I may have a handyman roommate moving in at the end of the month. I haven’t lived with a roommate that wasn’t my partner since I was 21? But hey, handyman and rent money...plus someone who will be here when I travel. It’s not ALL about me. He’d rent the upstairs which is solely the master bedroom with three walls of windows, a private bath, and wood-burning fireplace. The house is small and not that private but it’s not a bad place to be. He has a little dog that got along great with my dogs and cats. If it gets along with poultry we’ve got a win.

Vendredi cinq 1. I brought chickens for show n tell today at the Audubon Acres day camp. Because I'm weird like that. 2. Monday I drove up to near Knoxville to take the kids to my ex the kids & ended up going to a small group meeting, getting home at 11PM. Tuesday was our anniversary. Wednesday I drove to Knoxville again and tattooed all evening. Yesterday I picked Wolf up at 5 AM, then yesterday and today I've been doing the day camp 9AM-3 for 4-7 year olds at Audubon Acres nature preserve. And all next week, too. 3. That's a lot. And our feels-like temp was 99 yesterday, and almost that today. I'm tired, and my head hurt terribly this morning. I carried a 4yo on my shoulders through the mosquito-infested woods this afternoon. 4. Despite that, I made awesome skillet supper and put together 5 dinner meal packets and 4 burritos for Wolf (2 each pizza and cheeseburger) 5. Tonight is nip-bottle of 90-proof coconut rum and knitting with NCIS. I think Sat and Sun since I don't have any plans, I'm gonna sit on my ass and knit. Maybe take a nap.

1. Therewas a meeting at Dylans school this morning that Jared was abe to attend, thankfully. I couldnt go because of an important appointment I had this morning and because Im completely out of PTO. They were nice enough at least to let me sit in on speaker during the meeting. It went well! 2. The only snag is that because he doesnt have any cognitive or learning disabilities that we'd have to get a letter from his doctor and a diagnosis to have him receive the OT he needs, in school. Id prefere that he does it in school instead of outside, so were going to his pediatricians office tomorrow. 3. Ive been troubleshooting microscope issues all day. I like problem solving, but now Im tired, and its Friday and and and... 4. Triple caramel macchiatos give me life. 5. I just wanna get the fuck out of here already. Fuck.
