The Fridge is out... again. Pt. 1

With the help of @mermain123, we came up with this au. It all started with the question, what if Adrien grew up as a normal kid. We call it the Fridge Au.

What this Au has:

Good father Gabriel

Adrien grows up with Marinette, Nino and Kim as his best friends.

Adrien and Felix are a troublesome and pranking duo.

Gabriel works full time at the Bakery. He inspired Marinette to become a fashion designer.

Gabriel did his best for his wife and son. He sacrificed his life goals and dreams to help his son after his wife fall ill since her pregnancy with Adrien. Even with their country’s health care paying for majority of the medical costs… it still took a toll on their savings as he and Emilie are just barely started in their careers. Their families are on odds… as Gabriel’s side of the family had more or less disowned him for not getting a proper job and Emilie’s family have worries of their own.

Even so… they did their best. Even with their best to help Emilie, that proved to be fruitless as it appeared, she has gotten worse instead of getting better.

For Adrien, he watched as his father struggled with doing everything, he could help his mom. Someone he hasn’t seen outside of those four white walls. He watched on how his father did everything he could for his mother. Doing so many random jobs and commissions whenever he had the time to do them. One of the only places that hired him full-time is the Dupain-Cheng Bakery. Even with the full-time job, Adrien knew his father is reaching at the end of his ropes.

Aunt Amelie would take him and Felix out to do something out of the city. Amusement parks, traveling, helping Felix with plays or anything they think that could take his focus off things. Just… keeping Adrien occupied whenever Emilie health took a turn for the worst.

Then finally… living in a small apartment with a refrigerator that has a habit of not working whenever it felt like it, bills finally started to pile up and Emile slipping into a coma with no hope. Gabriel and Amelie talked to Emilie’s doctor, informing them that there was nothing else they could do for her.

At the age of ten, dressed in black, Adrien watched as his mother get buried in the family’s plot. He doesn’t know why he wasn’t able to cry at the notion of his mother’s death. Only crying when he saw his father breakdown as everything came ahead for him.
