TL;DR Version: The Farmhouse King from Burger King is a monstrous sandwich that essentially piles a diner breakfast onto a double cheeseburger. It tasted pretty good, but I felt terrible afterward. Full Review: Last night I stopped at Burger King on the way home from the gym to try their new Farmhouse King. I was also going to try their new Cinnamon Toast Crunch milkshake, but the shake machine was broken so that review will have to come at a later date. The Farmhouse King is a half pound of beef patties topped with American cheese, bacon, a fried egg, fried onion petals, “signature” sauce, and ketchup. It is absolutely massive; one of the largest fast food burgers I can recall. My first impression when biting into it was that it had hash browns on it, but that turned out to just be the way the fried onion petals were combining with the ketchup. Still, that flavor of hash browns and ketchup was the strongest flavor I took away from it. I couldn’t have guessed there was a signature sauce on this thing and I didn’t really notice the fried egg at all because it was overwhelmed by the half pound of beef and the “not hash browns.” Between how literally and figuratively heavy it was, I was only able to eat half of it in one sitting. Which is probably a good thing, considering its whopping 1,220 calories per serving. Even sticking to half of one, I felt slightly ill as I got ready for bed, unsure of whether the burger had been worth it and whether the $6.66 (after-tax) price had been a sign. Unless you’re feeling adventurous, or desperately trying to gain weight, I would submit that eating one of these probably isn’t a good idea. #BurgerKing #FarmhouseKing #BurgerLifeStyle #BrokenShakeMachine #FriedEggOnTop #HalfPounder #InstaReviews #FastFoodie #FastFoodLife
