what type of friend are you?
mom/dad/parent friend: a classic. caring. sometimes strict. genuinely the most doting person you will ever meet. depending on the type of parent they are, they can burn themselves out caring for others; or they might just not take any of your shit. either way, they’re the love and support you need as a friend.
wine aunt/uncle/relation: what are they doing? who knows. they offer advice but it’s often not that great. what’s important is that they are trying to help, even if they never text you back. will 100% call you “kid” at some point.
older sibling friend: like the parent friend, but 100% more chaotic. will tell you to go to bed at a reasonable time, and also dare you to chug an entire can of monster energy. their parental tendencies cede immediately to any parent friends present. they are definitely capable of being a petulant little kid to other friends when supervised by a parent friend.
middle child friend: a little bit quieter, but still caring. softer energy than the older sibling friend, though they do tend to take care of people when the parent friend is absent. typically the least problematic of the friend group (except for the parent friend).
younger sibling friend: the baby of the friend group. doted upon by all of the above. probably a little bit of a disaster but you know what? that’s alright. usually the most petulant of all of the kid friends, although they get away with it easier.
cousin friend: a friend of a friend; either new to the friend group, or visiting for some reason or other. half of the people there have never met them before, or barely know them. they’re usually pretty friendly, though they tend to stick by the friend that they knew best before that meeting.
cousin itt: who are you. what are you. why are you covered in hair? it doesn’t matter, we love and accept you
