(Lute) I see Eleanor already spoke with you. I'm Marissa. The girl that is "stealing" Beatrice. Now, I may sound like the bad guy but I assure you, I'm not trying to be. I just hang out with Beatrice more because I feel like we have more in common than Eleanor. And Eleanor is the one that's rude! She talks with an attitude to me, and never lets me talk! I'M RUDE?! I wanna punch her right now! Just because I talk to Beatrice more, doesn't mean I'm getting in the way of her big ego! Seriously!!!!!
Lute would meet you at the entrance of the cafe, to which he smiles at you softly, and offers his hand out to you, bowing like the gentleman he is. He would take your hand once you place yours in his, and leads you through the maze of sofas, and stops at his designated area. He gestures to you to sit down, and once you’ve sat down, he in turn sits beside you, “Hello, Marissa, wasn’t it?” he asks, to which you nod your head, he smiles again and says “how can I help you, Marissa?”
He listens to you vent, waiting patiently, and when you finish he leans forward a little, his elbows on his knees and says “I’m sorry if anything I said to Eleanor came across as you looking like the ‘bad guy’, but I don’t think anything of the sort. For me, each person deserves their own response - no judgement and no assumptions (to the best of my ability) on what it could be like for the other person, I can only go by what I get told at the end of the day.” He looks at you, his features showing sincere apology & sympathy.
“And in return, their own answer - this time it’s clearly a little different… Because you’re now here, instead of Eleanor.” he clears his throat a little, and continues “I understand that you’re angry, but perhaps it’s all bad communication on both parts, I appreciate that being told that might upset you, so you’ll have to forgive me for that… from what I gather, neither of you have as much in common, compared to you and your friend Beatrice. Though I notice that both of you are here.”
“So you both clearly like this… social media ‘Tumblr’, and you both like otome… I mean, you can correct me if I’m wrong - it’s just how it looks…” he leans forward and prepares a hot mug of hot chocolate, topped with whipped cream and mint chocolate. He then passes the mug over to you, and leans back again, “which means, you have at least one, if not two things in common… which is always a start.” He would tilt his head down, considering on how to respond next, “maybe the two of you got off on the wrong foot,”
“that you two are nervous around each other, because you’ve made a friend that is clearly important to the two of you… whether you or Eleanor has experienced the loss of someone, because someone new has come into the circle of friendship and shunned Eleanor / you out of the group - and it’s all subconscious - and admittedly, it’s pure speculation… because I can only go by what you two have told me - which isn’t really all that much… I really do think that maybe you and Eleanor should have a private chat too,”
“No pointing fingers at each other, no accusations, no raising voices at each other. Talk to each other, find some things that you both like - I think you’d both be very surprised at just how much in common you both have… For some reason you won’t let yourselves make a new friend that could be just as wonderful as yours with Beatrice. Also, I’d like to add - that maybe Beatrice feels in the middle… it’s a pretty horrible position to be in, and she isn’t sure on how to act - because she doesn’t know how to get you two to get along…”
He would inhale slowly, and run his hand over his mouth thoughtfully, “it might be easier to start off by writing lists, of things you both like; whether it’s chicken, christmas, dogs / cats / animals, shoes, Disney, babies, Harry Potter, otome. chocolate, turtles… that you have a pet gecko, that you want a pet gecko… that you want to travel to France, to Italy, to Japan. I know that you’ve already tried, there’s always enough time to try again, try harder… sometimes forming friendships take time,”
“Especially when there’s more than one person in the equation.” he says softly, and adds “I know that you’ve probably tried, but you’ll have to excuse me for being so bold... but I’m fairly concerned about how this could be upsetting Beatrice. She is in the middle of all of this, and it’s probably very upsetting for her, to see both of her friends arguing over her, not to mention that maybe she feels like she’s the cause of it. When it’s all a matter of whether you and Eleanor are able to get past your initial clash with each other.”
“I’m sorry if this sounds like I’m targeting you, and that you feel bad... but I think that maybe the pair of you should try again. That you both should give each other another shot, and make it clear to each other that neither of you want to take Beatrice away from the other, and what have you - sometimes, people need words, contrary to what people say about actions speaking louder than words - some need words and actions to match up. If you need to talk again - I’ll be here.” he would say to you, staying sat beside you until you’re ready to leave, and when you are, he walks you to the door.
