In this short quick tip I show you how to create a simple custom start-up/splash image for the FrSky TARANIS radio. You upload the image as part of the Firmware upload, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpYO7HkjxGQ&index=2&list=PLYsWjANuAm4rtLZuLU2eSTc3svqWx-pa1 for more detail on how to make that work.

You need to create a 4 bit, 212 x 64 pixel monochrome image and save it as a bitmap (.BMP) using your graphics editor of choice.

You can also download some great artwork to upload or customise from http://www.open-tx.org/screens-taranis.html

If you don’t have a graphics editor that you like/can use then you can also consider GIMP editor – http://www.gimp.org/
