I got Watership Down on the brain again...

When people talk about community they often discuss it in terms of “finding” it. The assumption being that a strong community already exists somewhere, pre-arranged and ready to be joined. But community is not a static state in which a group of people exist. Community is dynamic and made up of multiple relationships each with their own unique dynamics. To create (and maintain!) community, you have to be active and intentional about it. You have to invest in those around you and have the humility and bravery to let them invest in you as well.

Being in community is hard, messy work but it is always worth it. This is how we as humans survive, by relying on each other.

I was going through a bit of a rough patch with my motivation, but recently i bought the graphic novel of Watership down, i loved it so much i then found and watched the original animated movie and loved it also! I absolutely adore the story of El Arairah, especially within the graphic novel! this is a piece based on Frith granting El Arairah his blessings to be able to escape danger.

We have a duty to our fellow humans, regardless of your or their religion or spirituality. The Israeli genocide of Palestinians cannot be allowed, and as pagans and witches, we must help in any way we can.

We have a duty to the earth, our home, our mother. Israel destroys it with its bombs, its phosphorous; poisons her very blood.

We have a duty to uphold justice. Witchcraft has always been a skill of the underdog, and there are countless deities of justice to whom many of us pay reverence. That isn't even mentioning how animism could factor into this.

We have a duty to protest, or at the very least, share and donate fundraisers. You can also buy an eSIM for Gazans starting at $9.

I finished reading Watership Down recently and some of the parts I enjoyed the most were the epic tales of El-ahrairah and Rabscuttle, so tonight I made this silly drawing with book highlighters.
