September: it's a busy month!
Schools reopening their doors with much relief of most parents, cooler air and temperatures are helping the grape pickers working in the vineyards (and not only them), the occasional rain helps the dried lawns regaining their natural green colour. It is also a very busy month for the enogastronomers living or travelling across the North East Italy.
FRIULI DOC: 19th edition - 12/15 September in Udine, FVG, Italy
It condenses all the typical flavour of this fantastic region, Friuli Venezia Giulia, in a unique exibition that combines traditional flavours, internationally renowend wines, arts and crafts, music and much more. This year there is also the opportunity to follow six local bloggers that will help their followers through the many ingridients available in the Region and the best way to use them. The open cerimony will be this Thursday, in Udine, Piazza Libertà with the Julia Brass Band. Guest of homour Mr Joe Bastianich. For more info and details check the map here
GUSTI DI FRONTIERA: 10th edition - 26/29 September in Gorizia, FVG, Italy
This small border town will be bustling with people setting up stands and marquees, cookers, 100s of tables and chairs, beer drafts, fridges, barbecues, roasting spits and everything needed to cater for thousands of people that will visit during the four days and nights of the last weekend of the month. There will be more than 20 nations including Argentina and Cuba. There are almost 2 km sq. of city centre space allocated to this festival and there will be a bus service getting from the main parking spaces around town to the heart of Gusti di Frontiera.
Barbecues and cookers will be lit up Thursday 26th at around 6pm.
