wow canon max nictitating membrane lore--i like it! i just got the image of his eyes blinking one at a time like a lizard when he's in that state.

when he gets startled awake at night he's got the orange eyes and it surprises the fuck out of rico.

he's absolutely rico's little apex predator!! and max uses the membrane when he wants to see better, which means if he's on his knees sometimes and wants better details of rico's face...

rico is way more into it than he thought he would be
