I got a little time this past weekend to fly fish for some bass. Wading the edge of a sandy bottomed Florida pond barefoot and in a pair of surfing trunks while fly fishing is to me a way to return, if only for a brief and fleeting moment, to the magic of boyhood fishing solitude. Using an ugly rubber legged frog fly creation I tied I was able to land this 4- pound green trout plus another 7-bass, 4- bream and 1- crappie all caught during the hour and a half before sunset. This to me is about as satisfying a time on the water as can be had. Look for warm afternoons and light to non-existent winds over the next two months for some incredible bass fishing with surface flies in South and Central Florida
