Frogchirp - Warrior
Insecure, natural intuition, learner of lore
Bio below:
Frogchirp knew she was one of the quieter cats in camp, but she never found much reason to complain. Her parents had died when she was young, but she had perfectly pleasant relationships with her many siblings. Her half brother Stonefin had even trained her as his apprentice. Sure he hadn't always been easy on her, but she never held it against him. He just wanted her to be strong, surely. Frogchirp never found herself very interested in other cats until she noticed Saltspring as a young warrior. Her younger clanmate was an apprentice at the time, and she did keep her distance, but as the two got older Frogchirp gained more and more appreciation for them. Still, she struggled to find a way to get closer to the cat she admired. Saltspring had many admirers, and they always rejected them. When Frogchirp compared herself to the brave warriors she called her peers, she couldn't imagine a reason why Saltspring would accept her instead of them. So she always contented herself with admiring from a distance, doing her best not to push too far. Eventually, though, Frogchirp felt herself getting older. A previous injury forced her into the elders' den, and she was left with a lot of time to reflect on her life. She watched cats much younger than her fall in love and grieve the loss of their mates, taken far too soon. She had known grief too, most of her family had joined Starclan, but that was an inevitability. She didn't know how it would feel to see a whole future with another cat, and even the threat of having it taken away couldn't scare her away anymore. Frogchirp began her attempts to court Saltspring with renewed dedication. She was awkward, and very inexperienced for her age, but she was present and always doing her best to connect with them. Eventually she summoned her courage to gather some of Saltspring's favorite flowers and formally confess her feelings. To her great surprise, Saltspring accepted! Frogchirp could only promise them that she'd do her best to become the best mate possible, a vow that earned her a purr and an affectionate lick on the forehead. Frogchirp and Saltspring had kits soon after becoming mates, and Frogchirp loved Hatchbubble and Nacrewhistle dearly. Nacrewhistle's death was a shock, but she knew it would not be long before she would see her daughter in Starclan. And when her sister, Reefstar, passed away, she gained even more acceptance for her fate. Frogchirp's feelings about joining Starclan became more complicated when Saltspring suddenly became pregnant. Her mate had been understandably anxious about her acceptance of death, but Frogchirp had always maintained that it was logical for a cat her age to prepare themselves for the next chapter. But with new kits on the way, how could Frogchirp stand even the possibility of missing their formative years? She started fretting over conclusions she had previously made peace with, and the stress weakened her in unexpected ways. She sadly passed away from greencough right before the birth, and could only hope to meet Caterpillarkit and Puddlekit in their dreams.
