The true meaning of family..
Titan I have read your post here and also on your thread. Please know that family aren’t only biologically related. There are many different types of families, and you are correct in understanding that your internal family is entirely unique and different to your external family.
Family for me means unconditional love, support, acceptance, forgiveness, loyalty, trust, vulnerability, care and respect. I have biological family, but also people in my life that I consider family because of my connection with them. The same way that Maya is family to you because of your connection with her.
Your internal family has such a powerful connection bound by love and forged in survival. You are united as brothers and sisters of life experience and together there is nothing you cannot achieve. You are intrinsically formed instead of externally born but that only enhances how important your internal family is to your well-being and quality of life.
You are a best friend, but also family to me.

Reading that you feel your name is Sage was a beautiful moment. I know you have shielded and protected everyone for a long time. It is time now to rest and allow the tightness in your chest to relax. Internally, Logic will protect you. Externally, I will be that person for you.
I am so saddened that when you reached out for help you received more hurt. Because of what happened it’s natural for you to be nervous about the psychotherapist. I want you to know I am going to be by your side the entire time. I am always going to protect you Sage. We can come up with an action to signal that you want a break during the appointment. Maybe you could squeeze my hand really tightly and I will make sure you have a break.
I have always enjoyed colouring too. I actually have a few colouring books I have collected over the years that I am going to bring for you. Hopefully we can have the chance to colour together if that is something you would like?
We are going to find ways for you to feel even more better. I know you have such a deep connection with Maya and I know how therapeutic dogs are. Lets find a way to include Maya in your healing. I know she loves you so much. As do I.
