the old 'false report' phishing scam is going around again among self shipping accounts, so please be careful if someone dms you with a message like this:
(account name shared with the permission of its owner)
at first, this can look pretty convincing, but the whatsapp number / discord account are an instant red flag that this is a phishing/hacking scam.
just remember: tumblr has a staff of like 4 people and none of them give a shit about anything that's going on down here, but they also are employees of a company, so there's no way they would be using off-site means of support like this
i think most people are aware of this scam by now, but i just wanted to give everyone a heads up that these scams can also affect sideblogs, it looks like? so be sure to check your sideblog dms to see if the history looks different than it did before if you answered one of these dms.
