It's been a crazy and amazing quarter here @fidm so I wanted to give a sneak peak at what I'm working on. The Red Dress Program here at FIDM is a quarter long special event class where 8 of us each make a gown for the American Red Heart Association, which are inspired this year by Valentino. Right now we are in the process of materializing the designs and creating the right fit so we can later make it in all red fabric. Here you see a little bit of each process (from the sides inward), the initial sketch of the design, to the full illustration, and next to that the underlying foundation of the gown, and the draped and hand sewn outer shell. It's a lot of work especially with my design, but it is more than rewarding each day I get closer to that final gown.
