there's something at the back of his mind screaming , clawing at whatever it may reach just to make him stop talking . with every new sentence he breaks into ben's confidence slips a little more until he finally listens , and stops .          “ i'm rambling on a bit , aren't i ? sorry , people aren't as interested in fossils as they used to be since . . . y'know , dinosaurs stopped being so extinct . ”

                cradled  in  the  Lord’s  embrace,  laura  lee  doesn’t  find  fear  in  her  nightmares.  instead,  a  safe  place  for  her  dreams  to  lay,  shamelessly  and  without  guilt.  but  this  isn’t  about  her,  it’s  about  faye,  and  helping  faye  get  through  this.  laura  lee  and  God  will  watch  over  her  as  she  rests,  ensuring  protection  and  harmony.  a  gentle  hand  pulls  the  blanket  over  faye,  tucking  her  in  neatly  to  the  warm  bed.    “  is  that  too  tight?  ”    she  asks,  eyes  as  warm  as  the  space  between  covers  and  mattress,  a  warm  pot  of  tea.  not  unlike  the  one  her  and  faye  had  shared  moments  earlier.    “  if-  if  you’re  still  nervous,  um,  i  like  to  say  a  prayer  before  bed,  asking  the  Lord  to  protect  my  soul  as  i  sleep.  we  could  do  that.  i  find  that  it  brings  me  a  lot  of  peace,  and  it  helps  me  rest  easier.  ”
