Thank you Pizza Hut and Deliveroo for the free pizzas. My GF one didn't turn up (not their fault) but we did get the shock of our lives when 40 pizzas turned up.
The deputy manager accidentally ordered 40 large pizzas instead of 20 LOL. We handed them out to the local hostels and our neighbour hostel gave us a Lindt advent calender. 🙂 I took the Christmas day one which was the biggest but I bloody deserve it.
Wealthy white boomer came thru the museum and was a wHOLE DICK to one of our people. He should have been bounced for it, tbh, but they let him keep going. Of course we were all up in his asshole after that and he was finally asked to leave after being rude to someone else BUT by that point he’d gone through most of the exhibit and it was closing time. I’m so annoyed he wasn’t tossed immediately. How are entitled dickwads supposed to learn anything? Ugh.

As much as I appreciate what the key worker clapping means to people, I don't take part myself. As a key worker we want change. We want action. Yes you mean well but it doesn't help us. I try to keep 2m from clients but it's not always possible with this job. We are taking lots of new homeless clients in who dont always have the best hygiene. We have minimal PPE and no chance of getting screens fitted as we're a charity. It took them 5 weeks to give us antibacterial gel and we are running low on soap. I'm going to buy it myself and claim back. I do what I need to do to protect myself because you got to look after numero uno!
I'm happy that we are getting recognition for the sacrafices we make and working on the frontline but we need more. Clapping isn't helping me when I go to work scared I will contract covid 19 from a client and give it to my family.
