Randomly had the thought of redesigning an absolutely ANCIENT character of mine. I came up with Froog when I was probably 6 or so years old, and I've basically never actually done anything with him.
He was… well, pretty much just a rubbery frog.
So for the redesign, what I was going for was...
More Rubbery... hence all the stretchy bouncy almost Monkey D. Luffy-esque moves. Frogs are pretty bouncy (in the legs) and stretchy (in the tongue) to begin with, so these sorts of things should come pretty naturally to Froog.
More Frog... the old Froog was closer to a tall skinny Kermit-ish shape, but actual frogs are chunky! Plus most of the stretchy/rubber type characters you see in various series are skinny, so Froog having a kinda chubby/muscular-in-a-froggy-way build stands out a bit.
