Scrambled to finish something for Mar10 Day, and missed it by a bit, but hey, it was still fun/cute anyway!
Anyway, this is a Mario Party fanfic, which I don't think I ever made a dedicated story about before. And now, it exists!
...Ok, yes, Bowser and Mario have moments together. But come on, what else am I known for?
This was also an attempt to use the "Huddle for Warmth" trope, because I don't think I've done dedicated work with that either.

Through a flicker of magic light, a Red Coin materialized over the ice before the party. A giant snowball dropped over it, forming a frosty mound. The group jolted upright, but then readied themselves against their giant ice skates.
Sliding forward as soon as they were allowed, Mario and Bowser each smashed into the snow, followed by Spike.

Reaching for his next Coin, Mario yelped as Bowser slammed his boot into Mario’s, knocking both of them away from it. He grinned as Mario glared, and they sped around the rink.
“Just like always, you chasing after me,” taunted Bowser. “You wish you could keep up with this Koopa!”
“We’re in giant ice skates,” pointed out Mario. “They go at the same speed. And we’re in an enclosed arena.”
“Are you or are you not chasing me?”
“Guess that’s true.”
Breaking off from one another, the two each smashed into snowballs that their opponents had been working on, scoring a Red Coin each. Time was called, and the Coins were tallied. Both Bowser and Mario held equal totals, tying with one another for first place, and earning each a Star score.
“Ha, already in the lead,” gloated Bowser.
“Tied for it,” reminded Mario.
“No worries, you’re expected to keep up with me.” He grinned as he lifted a fist. “But I know just how to crush you in the end.”
“You can try, but I’ll slip past you,” fired back Mario.
“…Are they fighting, or…?” Spike blinked and turned to Goomba.
“Don’t ask; they’re always like this,” complained Goomba.
With a portal opening beneath them, the four dropped through it, slipping away from their ice skates and the ice rink with it.

See, it's like doubly nice, because it's a winter themed story and it's still winter, and it was Mar10 Day and it's with Mario. Isn't that just so super swell? ...What?
