❝ and if i say no? ❞
" You die."
Heliinx had her soundly outnumbered. Herself, a couple dozen of her white-furred guards, and a oozing green flame she held in one hand which she tossed up and down threateningly.
" Give-give me your horns and I may not take your entire head. I will not ask again, meow-thing."

“By the Void... what are you, exactly?”

It wasn't everyday a Grey Seer crossed another individual and saw the consequences for doing so. No, her kind ate, walked, maimed and killed with impunity. But sometimes it would happen, and it was always a shock when it did.
Heliinx certaintly wasn't expecting to be held a knifepoint. It would seem her little mouse-trick from previously had come back to bite her. She had her paws up, and open. No weapons in her hand, though a few were definitely on her person.
However, she was hardly unnarmed. It was simply a shame most of her magic required sudden movement. Most of it.
She flexed her fingers the slightest bit, and the motion produced a slimly, green ball which plopped onto the grass...
...and promptly erupted into a spreading, acid-colored flame.
the forest is deep and dark, yet, it is welcoming — encouraging even. beside a long, languid pool, the waters remain undisturbed, the reflection cast upon the surface warbling only slightly. beyond that space, across the kept waters on the other side, exists a single solitary creature. no doubt a wolf. their presence is measured by how they glow, their thick hide of almost pristine white fur is illuminous when set against the ebbing shadows of the forest behind.
no sudden movements are made, not even a brush, a twitch or a sigh. they look from beyond the lake, their eyes are an unmistakable black, but within that self-same darkness there is a glimmer, several glimmers. reflections caught from the stars above.

"And how does that all play out?"

"Um..” Katie was really struggling with her words here. She wanted to say something snappy, like, “Since when was that your business,” but this mutated lynx of a giant gave off a real “I slice the throats of the disrespectful” energy.
Katie wasn’t scared—not yet (This wasn’t her first time dealing with big, burly, and murder-y). But she was nervous, and that was probably obvious enough by the way she started edging away bit by bit. She had scouting to do, and she really needed this mutated lynx to buy her, “Oh, I’m just a tourist,” story already.
“Is that.. an actual question, or are you building up to something else?" She got the very niche, but the very distinct feeling, that this was the part of your classic buddy cop movie where the good cop cued in the bad cop.
@frostforger: There's a curious chuff from behind Elsa that almost ruffles her hair. "It isn't winter, and we're nowhere near the mountains, yet you smell so strongly of glaciers and winter air. Why?"
“ oh- ” a soft start of surprise at the sudden, albeit quiet, noise, elsa blinks and turns slowly only to release a small chuckle at the sight of hirra. it wasn’t laughter at her expense, of course, rather at how IMMEDIATELY everything clicked upon seeing that it was her back there.
“ well... ” drawn to a pause by the question, the once-queen needed a moment to contemplate how to proceed. this was always the HARD PART of meeting new people, one could never be certain of the right way to take that first step regarding her powers. in THIS instance, it’s nice that a question has been posed, a tie already made between herself and ice, but still... difficult to navigate. she has never been able to find the right words, to figure out the best way to construct any explanation.
“ in all honesty, that’s... well, it’s easier to SHOW you. ” rather than try to elaborate on her particular, unique tie to nature verbally, it’s far simpler to DEMONSTRATE. at least then, further questions can be posed which are far easier to answer than trying to explain it all with no reference point. drawing a breath, elsa steadies herself and moves her hands gracefully through the air in front of her chest. glimmers of magic, like snow, TRACE the movements until a crystal-like snowflake about the size of her palm is formed. it’s a very simplistic show of her magic, a minor show of the power she’s capable of, but ALSO the least likely to be overwhelming to those not used to seeing such things.
“ you... could say that winter and i have always had a very close bond. ”

"Wait!"
Xaallo's hooves and claws pounded into the earth, trying and failing to gain traction. He'd fallen quite a distance behind already, and outright as well, fur slicked in mud. However, for what he'd seen, or rather thought he saw, he could ignore that for now.
The rain was well underway when he'd seen her-- a horned figure with fur standing amid the trees of that forest. Was she like him? One of his kind, maybe? A doe? He had to find out. Perhaps he'd been a bit overzealous, and loud, for as soon as one twig snapped under his hoof she'd bolted. And, as she got further and further away, it became apparent that she far better suited to running in the rain than he.
Still, he followed. She'd run out of stamina before he did, surely...
