I know that I have a very dry texting/typing style because I have been told even by people I am close with that it differs significantly from how I speak. and for the last 10 years I have had people react badly to me online and say mean things to me because they thought I did it first. part of this is that I'm sure dry humour without a disclaimer is easily interpreted as an insult, but also when I am excited I do not sound excited unless I remember to go back and add exclamation marks which does not come naturally to me. I do not know how to rectify this. i fear that ending every sentence with a smiley face or winkey face would sound passive aggressive and it always takes me a moment to remember if /s is sarcasm or serious.
