The other weekend I went to visit family. My sister had a new baby, My cousin had a bigger baby, Someone else was pregnant and a friend was making plans.

I mostly hangout with queers, who tend to have fewer kids. (I do know a handful of excellent queer parents though.) So having so much baby time was a bit of a shock.

I decided not to freeze any "genetic material" when I started taking hormones, knowing they would almost certainly make me infertile.

I don't regret my decision but it was an eerie feeling to be suddenly surrounded by people who had all decided on a path I had medically closed for myself years ago.

i just realised that when house asked cameron “did you lose someone? Did you lose a baby?” in season 1 during that one episode where the baby of the lesbian couple dies, and cameron turned around, looked at him dead in the eye and said something like “you can be a real ass sometimes/ you know that?” with those sad fucking eyes, she wasn’t just thinking about her dead husband, or the child they would never be able to have together. She was thinking about the frozen sperm. And that, although the hypothetical baby would be biologically his, they wouldn’t be able to be parents together. Or maybe she wasn’t thinking about that, i don’t know, but that’s how it hit me.
