A reality in which Hobby Lobby still exists but Fry's Electronics doesn't is a bad timeline.
Fry’s Electronics, which was already being hammered by online competitors, was done in by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In other sad but not at all surprising news.
This is our local version in Burbank; and yes the tail lights on the crashed UFO do did blink. Inside is was a wonderland of electronics--not only products, but STUFF to MAKE THINGS, like if Radio Shack morphed into a themed department store. This one has had a snack bar at the back of the store with 50s-era cars converted into dining booths, all set up like a drive-in.
I only just got to know you Fry's. Arrivederci.

im in frys elctronics with my mom rn and its giving me liminal space/purgatory vibes
like
the employes are just watching from afar
the stores stock is practicly non existant
the songs playing in the back round are songs like highway to hell and hotel califonia
ive only seen a few people and they looked like they were in a trance just walking around aimlessly
and the lights are dimmer than usual
i used to have dreams were i was in FRYs and i wasn't able to leave because i would either stop walking or i would be stopped by an employee. another dream in frys i saw a creature in one of those tiny house/hut things with the speakers in them

Opinion
Fry’s Electronics stores are most definitely liminal spaces
