....I owe you, and the gaming industry an apology. Thank you James, for calling me out on this and helping me understand. My one track mind for Valve and Dota 2 is awful. I should give other games and developers a chance, else I risk being part of the group that helps erase them. I gagged a little looking at that number, then the gagging stopped and my stomach plunged when I remembered steam has no idea about any of the other game time and money I've invested. But it's not like Valve cares when they print money.

You have not want it initially. Then it grows out of spite and you become unlikely allies, travelling around solving mysteries and having adventures. Then there's the sudden but inevitable betrayal, and then the shaving, and the usual story tropes afterwards, but it's the recurring love-hate relationship that fosters the companionship and from then on it's impossible to get rid of entirely.
