She had played the game perfectly. Bria fought for the ancients because she needed the power, she needed the chance to bring back the man she loved. Theo was an ever present ache in her heart, a reminder of the last good thing she had, and yet here she was. Staring at her reflection in the full length mirror on the back of the door. It was hard to process getting ready for a date that wouldn’t have a lawyer in a well earned Jaguar on the other end of it. Regardless, she paid her debts, and maybe she would need this one, one day. A sigh huffed through painted lips, taking one last look at the way the color of the dress was perfectly suited for her. Honestly, she looked like she was from the heavens themselves and designed for nothing less.
The sound of the door snapped her out of it, and she eventually moved bare feet through the apartment to open it. Stepping back, she allowed him in, ushering with a hand when he seemed to pause for a little too long. “Don’t.” She pointed a finger at him with the edge of a grin. “I still have to get my shoes on but don’t look at me like that.” @audacitx
