While most women of her status would ask a stable hand to untack the horse, she found the process to be very meditative. She hummed softly a song she had heard played a few nights before as she brushed the horse she had been riding before. It was a strange site to anyone who didn’t know her well, her long mane of bright red hair had long fallen out of its perfectly styled updo from before her ride and she hard the certain red glow on her skin that came from physical activity.
She enjoyed her early morning rides, it was the only alone time she enjoyed. With a horse you were never truly alone and the dawn sun was always so inviting. Her muscles hd the familiar ache if use as she brushed his coat and she held a content smile. It was the perfect morning for sure.
She was so focused on her task at hand, and so used to the stable being near empty this early she didn’t expect anyone to be there, so when she turned around to put the brush away and was met with the sight of a ghost of her past she visibly jumped in surprise.
Time and perhaps even Brazil had made Antonio even more attractive than Teresa remembered. She felt a heat rise to her cheeks besides the flush of activity, of course he had to see her like this for the first time in years. Her hair wild from the wind of a ride and her skin flushed and she was absolutely sure sweaty. She took a deep breath of the still cool early morning air and smiled slightly. “I didn’t expect anyone to be here. I-I am sure I can find someone to finish taking care of him if you were looking for alone time?”
She didn’t want to leave. She would do anything to talk with him again, she had missed him. But she also was worried if she stayed and talked to him she might forgive him for not writing her in these last two years. Had he forgotten her? She wasn’t sure she could bare it if he had. How could someone make her want to stay and run away all at once?
