“Oh hey, thanks so much for coming over. Can you just watch Ellie for me? I’ll be back soon, thanks, bye.” Winking at Ellie, Beth hurried out of the door before Cary had a chance to blink let alone object. He hadn’t spent much time with Ellie over the years, but enough for the youngster to feel comfortable around him and even though he might kill Beth later, she knew he would do his best.
Of course, Beth didn’t actually need anything that she couldn’t take Ellie along for, but whilst she had some time, she did some grocery shopping, grabbed a coffee and slotted in a quick eyebrow wax before making her way back to her house. It had only been about an hour, enough time for Cary to settle down at least.
Shuffling back through the front door, Beth plastered a bright smile on her face. “I’m back, I bought donuts!” Walking through the family room, waving at her daughter before moving through to the kitchen, the blonde pressed her lips together to stop herself from laughing as she spotted her friend. “Okay, hear me out, you never would’ve said yes if I asked and you need practice with kids, so, I will not apologise and instead will just say that you are welcome. How was she?” @cary-reynolds
