Baz couldn’t remember exactly how long he had known Evani, though he did remember meeting her during his relationship with Peyton. He also remembered the fact that he was entirely awe-struck by her beauty that first time. They were thoughts he didn’t dare openly express then, or now, out of respect. Even after quite a nasty breakup with Peyton, they seemed to remain in contact secretly. He wasn’t complaining; Basil probably would have crossed the ends of the Earth for a momentary glance at her smile.
On this particular occasion, he came bearing a gift. It was a Roman stone and glass bead necklace, which he assumed came from approximately the third or fourth century A.D. Then again, he wasn’t a professor and it was only an estimate. How he came about it, he wouldn’t share. Baz simply knew it was something that Evani should have instead. He knocked on the casing of the door to her office before perching himself against the doorframe itself. “Well, if it isn’t the prettiest version of Indiana Jones ever seen,” he quipped, absent mindedly licking his lips after “How’re you feeling, love? Well, I hope. I promise I brought something more for you than pickup lines and this ugly mug today.” With a smile, he pulled the box out of his pocket and offered it to her. / @evanixkamat
