         with  a  giant  ice  cream  cone  in  hand,  she  lazes  around  the  park  on  her  break.  sunglasses  over  her  eyes  billie  cruises  through  the  park  grounds ,  the  dunk  tank  catching  her  eye  as  malachi  sits  inside,  just  waiting  to   get  dropped  into  the  water.  still  a  few  feet  away ,  she  watched  a  few  dozen  people  miss  the  target  over  and  over  again  until  finally,  the  ball  hits  the  target  dropping  the  boy  into  the  water.   this  illicits  a  string  of  laughter  from  bill.   “ yikes,  that  looks  like  fun.”  billie  remarks,  catching  up  with  the  other  behind  the  dunk  tank  booth.  “ guess i  shouldn’t   complain  about  having  to  paint  all  day.”

The tiny, surprisingly well-wrapped Christmas present would suspiciously be found in the middle of Malachi’s kitchen table. All it had was a note that said: From Aria. On the back of the note read: Malachi, this thing reminded me of you. Happy holidays. A tiny, crudely drawn smiley face had fangs. It was all clearly meant as a playful joke.

Upon being unwrapped, the little, briefly enchanted toy would fly up and do little circles around the vampire’s head before falling into his hands.
