CHARACTERS — Elijah & Mallory ( @malloryhuitson ).

Elijah's get-togethers with his friends had started to become few and far between lately, what with how crazy his schedule had become since Rhiannon had entered his life. And, honestly? That was probably a good thing, considering the group had always found themselves at One Note Stand at some point or another in the night and he was still feeling a little bit guilty about the last time that he came home after karaoke with the inability to remember a thing. Unfortunately for him, however, he couldn't exactly evade celebrating a birthday which meant alas, he was there again. He swore to himself — like always — that he wouldn't let himself have too much fun, but it was evident by the way that his expression lit up at the sight of a someone familiar walking away from the request booth that he didn't really listen to himself. "Well, well, well. Isn't it a coincidence seeing you here," he said in lieu of a greeting, a crooked grin on his face indicating that he was speaking lightheartedly. "I thought you weren't interested in music, y'know — you never took up my offer to come see the studio. I'm a bit offended."

After a long day at the stables, Camille was more than ready to head home for the evening. She could just about hear the bottle of wine calling her name, and had every plan of climbing into a hot bubble bath the second she walked through her front door. While the woman loved what she did, there was no denying the fact that having two jobs could be rather exhausting at times. 

As she made her way down the street, the blonde couldn’t help but smile as  she gazed out the window. Belleville had been filled with charm ever since she could remember and there was something rather comforting about driving past all of the same locations she had since she was a child. This part of Paris felt like a best kept secret among locals – a place that many tourists had yet to explore or discover, and one that she would always hold near and dear.

Just as that lovely thought crossed her mind, Camille heard a loud pop and practically jumped out of her skin, startled by the noise. Quickly pulling over, the model parked her car along the side of the road and jumped out, blue eyes darting toward her two front tires. However, it didn’t take much time or examination to find that a rusty nail had clearly given her a flat. 

“Nom de dieu!”

            She always had reservations about the use of her grandsire’s power, but under Mallory’s insistence, she should at least try to master it. She holds her hand out aloft, fingers curled at the joints and between them are sparks that crackle and fizz. There is a slight crease in her brow, and sweat glistening on the highest points of her cheekbones. Her hands tremble and her fingers twitch to urge electricity to flourish within her palm. Nothing. Save for a few static crackles.

           ❝Can’t do much other than that.❞ She lets her hand drop and sighs.

                                   Can’t, or won’t, though?

      For some strange reason, the words hit like a sledgehammer. She wouldn’t dare doubt her “godmother’s” love and devotion, but she can’t help feeling that she is only prolonging this curse. What’s worse is that she feels as though Mallory is only trying to console her, even after just having expressed the pain of damnation by her godly relatives. 

     She and her brother vowed to fulfill the promise her father made, to try to find a way to free Mallory from her eternal fate. However, she keeps hitting dead ends, no matter what stones she turned, corners she explored. Hot tears brim her eyes and she runs into the cursed goddess’ arms, ❝I know that and that’s why I’m so sorry.❞

"you know, in retrospect this probably wasn't the best idea." salem let out a small giggle before finishing off her fourth cocktail from one of the food trucks. when mallory suggested a pre-show pregame salem agreed without hesitation. now the two were drunk, or at least salem was, an hour before mallory's set. "we can either keep going or we can stop and try to sober up before you go on. either way im happy, i just need to be a little coherent for leon's set at least." she teased before pulling her phone out to check a text. "by the way, i am kinda pissed you aren't performing tummy hurts."

No words could be more true, and she knew it. She thought she swore to herself that it'd be best that she lock her heart away, and swallow all the keys to avoid repeating the same mistakes. More so, avoiding the heartache that would ensue should somebody choose her. For the most part, she knew she was at fault for own heartbreaks, and for others as well.

❝It seemed too good to be true at the time, and I was almost stupid enough to throw that away. Did you ever have to go through that, Aunt Mal?❞

Adjusting the strap of her dress as she sat back down at the booth, Alya blew out a breath. In the time it had taken her to get from their booth, to the bar and back again, it had seemed that the capacity of the club had tripled and after nearly losing both of the drinks she had acquired on the way back, Alya decided to make this one last, to avoid the horrors of doing it again. “God, did an entire college just turn up in here or is it just me?” Sliding one of the fresh drinks over to Mallory, Alya reached for her own with her other hand. “I love coming here, but every so often I feel really old because I swear everyone else in here is barely hitting twenty.”

Clinking her glass to her friend’s, Alya took a sip before relaxing back into the booth, a contented sigh leaving her lips. “Are you staying in here tonight or do you want to go somewhere else?” Glancing around, the girl took another sip of her drink. “I needed to get out tonight, even if we did come here on student night.”
