on rare occasions , kieran would let themself into matteo’s home . typically , kieran called or sent a text that they were coming because despite the two of them being brothers , kieran respected matteo’s space enough to at least give him a heads up but that day had gone a little differently . they had been in the neighborhood and decided to drop by . they let the dogs out before getting comfortable although they noticed that something had been a little odd .

Never in a million years did she think this day would come. In fact, never in a million years did Adriana ever think she would step foot in Wildemount again. Then again, she also never thought of her father passing away. As much as she wanted to attend the services and go back to her happy life in London, her grief taught her one thing: she had an amazing father and her child deserved to know hers.

Somehow, Adriana had managed to keep Giana hidden for the first few days she was in town. The last thing she needed was someone seeing the toddler that looked nearly identical to Matteo out and about. Gossip spread quickly in Wildemount and she wanted to be the first one to break the news. She had arranged it so her step-mother would watch the little girl while Adriana went to tell Matteo something she should have told him over four years prior. 

As if the heavens above knew the guilt in her heart, the sky opened up and began to pour once the woman arrived to the farm she had been to so many times. It was nicer than she remembered it, and she made a note that their daughter would most likely love the atmosphere. Gianna was never a city girl, never one to primp and preen. She preferred mud puddles, pony rides, and absolutely adored the goats at the petting zoo. With an envelope full of four years worth of pictures in her purse, Adriana stood on the stoop of Matteo's home. A lump lodged itself in her throat as she knocked on the door three times, each knock harder and louder than the last. 

Never in a million years did she think this day would come.

Even though her ‘big secret’ was now out, Adriana still had so much left to tell Matteo - more now after the attack. After her conversation with Rory, about hunters potentially being on the farm, and everything that had happened on the night of the ball, she desperately needed to talk to him. It was about time he knew what she really was. With a box of baked goods in tow, she found her way to the farm yet again.

She knocked on the door and stood back, clutching on to the confections as she waited. “Matteo,” she called out, as though he would miraculously hear her, no matter where he was. “Can we have a friendly, adult-only conversation for a bit? I brought teacakes and biscuits to bribe- I mean, feed you,” she teased. / @matteoxallen​
