“ yes, ” kit nodded, having no idea what else to say about it other than to wholeheartedly agree. he’d thought the story of his father having the grand duke forcibly, and publically, pulling him away from a baking competition at the age of fourteen was a funny one. though now saying it aloud …

“ so despite being indefinitely banned for participating thereafter ” he chuckled at the use of the word ‘banned’ despite the heartbreak he’d felt from hearing it the first time, “ i did receive a letter from the judges saying they thought the peanut butter pie i made was excellent and they encouraged me to keep baking. though i sort of lost interest in it for a couple of years. things do come back to you. ”

“ whoa, whoa, whoa .. banned ? that’s a little much. ” he replied with furrowed brows. if someone enjoyed something leo didn’t see why they shouldn’t do it. “ i mean, i’m glad the judge did that after everything. wait - peanut butter can be in pie ? that sounds weird. like is it just a block of pb ? so, what i’m hearing is you’re baking again ? ”

“yeah, maybe.” eric chuckled knowing that it really wasn’t any better but you’re supposed to appreciate these things in all the ways you can. at least that’s how he thought. “no a romance guy?” eric asked curiously, he was a bit of a sap when it came to love and romance. always going out of his way to woe someone he fancied. “lover pretzels.” he repeated letting out a laugh. leo had a charm and wit about him that eric was very drawn to. he was interesting and eric wanted to know more. “ah, i’m sure your brother could teach you a thing or two about shmancy art. my father collects art and antiques.. all that stuff. our house had a lot of things you can look at but not touch.” he recalled, “but, uh, your brother.. his drawings are good?”

leo wasn’t wrong… it did sort of resemble a pretzel and was certainly concrete. eric let out a huff as he looked up from the art. “that’s why i’m down here inspecting it.” he explained, “to see if there is a clue.” but so far there was nothing. “someone mentioned it looked like two lovers intertwined… but i think you’re right about it looking more like a pretzel.” he stood up finally and dusted off his hands, “i take it you’re not big on art?”

🐢 ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ─────────── eric’s comment did make leo let out an amused laughed. “ and the views supposed to be better down there ? ” he still found the whole things ridiculous. like why did someone have to be on the ground to inspect art ? he was probably being a little too judgemental so leo decided to be nice and bend down some to see what eric was seeing. he refused to sit on the floor. “ lovers huh ? that’s some hopeless romantic talk right there. i’m usually right, yeah. very pretzel like. lover pretzels if you will. ” the slider straightened as eric stood. “ can’t say i’ve ever had the pleasure of being in some shmancy art place to really appreciate it. my brother does art but it’s more drawings than sculptures. ”
