Fanmail arrives in a crumpled letter, on a sunny morning; RAHI KUMAR is written on it in wonky handwriting, with blue-colored pencils. Stars and planets are drawn all over it, and it features a glittery-rocket sticker. (Someone has written the accurate address on the back, and glued a stamp on it.) The inside contains a handwritten note, and it says:
Dear Mister Astronaut Kumar!!!
My Name is Nicolas, but you can call me Nick. I am six years old!!! (Almost seven.) I really wanted to write you an E-Mail, but my Dad said I should write you a letter. So I'm writing you a letter.
I have so many questions!!!! And maybe you can answer them. My Dad said maybe I should put numbers, so it's easier for you to answer them in order. I think since you're an astronaught astronaut, and astronauts have to be smart, you will be doing just fine!!!
A friend of my parents took me to watch the stars some nights ago. And I've been wondering, when you are floating around in space, do you not get sees seasick? Or do you call it spacesick? I think I would get spacesick, so it's good that I'm not an astronaut. Can you bring souvenirs, from the moon? Like, a piece of it? And If you cannot, do you like space themed things? Do you have those glowy space stickers on your bedroom wall? Or do you wear galack galaxy leggings? Google also says you have a boyfriend. What does he do when you are in space? Does he not get bored? Does he sit and stare up at the sky all day?
And most importantly!!! I swear I can keep secrets!!! So... is there aliens in space? Have you ever seen one??? And if you have not... do you think aliens exist?
With kindest regards, Nick!!!!!!
P.S.: My Dad says I use too many exclamation marks, but I think it's just the perfect amount. Do you think it's the perfect amount?
