One of the best parts of Dominic’s job was the flexibility. Obviously there were some things he didn’t have control over, and often when things were set in stone they were set in stone. As in, if he didn’t make the meeting with the councilman, he should kiss that client goodbye. Thankfully Dominic was great at being punctual. Meetings were usually one of the more exciting parts of his job, so he rarely wanted to miss them even if he could. Unlike most of his coworkers who dreaded meetings, he thought the lying and dramatics and fake acts were great entertainment. Better than paperwork at least. Clients were a different story since he actually had to do more work when it came to them. As Vice President, his thoughts were needed, but most people cared little if he didn’t have much to say.

For that day, however, his schedule was clear. He had planned to pick up lunch at one of his favorite Chinese restaurants before returning to his office and talking with his mother’s assistant about what his mother was planning for her birthday. Not that it mattered, since he had no plans to return to France any time in the near future. Putting his phone away as he stepped off the elevator, he was surprised to see a familiar face in the lobby. “What a delight to see your face around here, Wren. I assume you’re here to see my delightful sister?” he asked, giving her a sly smile. His sister could do whatever the hell she wanted in her office, but there was something humorous about knowing the kinds of people she was inviting up.
