i think i mentioned this before but this is a good example of it, so i’ll do it again. like robin, franky starts out calling the straw hats by nicknames and only nicknames (with the exception of when he uses a full name or title, like with robin and luffy), but then switches to just their names after he joins and gets more comfortable with them.
