I hope it’s still okay for me to write to you?
How are things at Hartford? Are you used to your new house? The neighborhood? Did you visit the Falls like I told you to?
Here, at camp, things are going great. I met this girl – her name is Mei Young Li – and she’s also going to be at Hartford Prep next year!! How cool is that? She’s so fun, we’re cabin-mates. We share a bunk bed. I have the bottom bed and she has the top one. Our other cabin-mates are cool, but I’m closer to Mei. I think you’d like her. She’s super funny and talks a lot. She told me her mom is Black American and her dad is Chinese. Usually, she travels during the summer but this year her parents had to be in Europe for work (they’re artists, how cool is that?!) and they couldn’t bring her, so this is what she’s doing until they come.
So far, in the two weeks I’ve been here, I went on a few morning and evening hikes to see the sun set or go down. We went swimming in the lake and horseback riding too. Also!!! The camp has this new program, it’s an art one where we can sign up to some workshops and there’s also a play that we will present on the last day here, in August. I decided to audition! I never do things like this, but I figured, why not? Like… I really want to try and go all out, you know? Try new things, I guess. Mei is auditioning too. She wants the lead role. I’ll take whatever they give me, to be honest.
I have to go, dinner starts soon. I’m so sorry this is short!!!
Please write me back soon?
