Life update:

For anyone who still follows me and cares about my life, I thought I'd make a quick post. I just got my bottom surgery yesterday! All went well and I'm in recovery now. This was my final surgery in my transition!!! The staff here is amazing! Had to drive all the way to Montréal lol and @gagakumadraws has to drive us home from Montréal on the 18th 😂

i might have to get weight loss surgery in order to qualify for phallo with my hospital of choice, but i really dont want to. ive been identifying as a bear for a long time and doing that and taking pride in that identity has forced me to accept and celebrate my body as it is. i cant lose weight the "natural" ways because i take many medications that inhibit metabolism and weight loss, and my metabolism is shot anyway from having a restrictive eating disorder. but all things considered, i like being fat. im way healthier now than i was when i was malnourished and underweight, and at any point in my life (a lot of it is due to testosterone). i feel like i would feel worse being skinny, and i dont feel bad about being fat at all. i dont really want to have to change a fundemental part of my identity and body to access gender affirming care. i will if i have to, but id get the lowest possible fat removal to qualify for sure. but i dont really want to in the first place so im going to have to plead my case here

I had a zoom post-op this morning (appointment #2 of 6) and the more I read the more I'm convinced I'm going to need a revision procedure 😭 I had a quarter-sized section of labia/foreskin necrotize and essentially dissolve, and while that's healed now it left a region of wound dehiscence (separation) about a half inch long between the shaft and head.

stitching it back together should be exceptionally easy because I'm healing well otherwise, but I'm very concerned about the timeline because my insurance lapses in less than a month.... I originally scheduled the surgery in early may specifically to allow for time for complications/revisions but due to factors outside of his control my surgeon had to reschedule for late June, so here I am 😬

I would get bottom surgery. I would. It's honestly a lot more advanced than people try to make it out to be. Transphobes deliberately spread misinformation regarding the nature of bottom surgery to make it seem less advanced than it is (trust me, this surgery is awesome).

Unfortunately, I am part of a very small minority of people who remember what it is like to be under anesthesia after having been under anestheisa.

And I think that that would suck. Because? Like? I can barely watch videos of it (some are linked for vaginoplasty on the transgender dictionary but not phalloplasty i dont think so far) i dont want to remember it

so as i recently posted ive decided to switch over from getting extended metoidioplasty to rff phalloplasty due to sensitivity reasons (my bottom growth is too sensitive for my liking and meta doesnt change that so im goinf with phallo) but heres a bit about my particular goals:

-i do not want a big dick. i want something that i can comfortably have in my pants all day every day. 3-4 inches would be perfect, 5 inches is acceptable but im shooting for 3-4 for personal comfort. your size preferences may be different, i happen to not be in a position where im having casual sex. i have one sexual partner and when she gets bottom surgery theyre definitely not going to want anything huge up there either lol. if i want it bigger for any reason ill wear a sleeve, but theres no way to shrink it once its on there

-i want to completely get rid of my vagina. its really only caused me trouble. idk if ive talked about it here but my vagina doesnt work well for much of anything, plus i cant comfortably get it checked out for pelvic exams or anything due to trauma/dysphoria/pain so im better off getting rid of it. i know theres a lot of people who want to have both sets of genitals and i can totally see the appeal but i just want the one

-i want my bottom growth inside the dick, "burial" is what its called. ideally id have erotic nerve hookup as well but if it doesnt work no biggie

-scrotoplasty and glansplasty for sure. both of these are very important to me. ill probably get testical implants

-this is uncommon but i want medical tattooing on my penis to give it more dimension. you dont really need to have this done and its fully cosmetic but i definitely want it. ive seen a guy who does amazing work

-i want an internal erection decice and will probably go for the pump over the rod. im aware this needs to be changed out once every 5-10 years but im ok with that. if i ever decide i dont want it anymore i can get it taken out. you can get external erection devices as well if you dont like the idea of having to change it

so overall my ideal goal is a very cis passing penis and i have no reason to believe that i cant achieve this. i notoriously have had a fairly easy time with major surgeries and my top surgery went perfectly so im not worried at all about complications, but if they happen, im sure i can handle them. however nobody really goes into any surgery expecting complications so take that how you will

bottom surgery in general is very customizeable, ironically hrt is really the only part of medical transition where you really CANT choose what happens/what you look like (having said this hrt saved my life and all that). like you can have a bunch of different end results to your surgery and everything i mentioned above is completely at your discretion, you can leave off or change whatever you want

I’m sick and tired of the hate towards masculine transition!! It especially sucks when it’s coming from other trans mascs. If you don’t want to medically transition, or want to go on t but don’t want any surgeries, that’s totally valid. But stop spreading misinformation and fear, especially about bottom surgery. Bottom surgery is not gross, it’s not a mutilation, it’s not guaranteed to fail. If someone is talking about how they want bottom surgery, don’t come into the comments talking about how you don’t want it because of reasons x, y, and z. If it’s a post specifically asking for different opinions on bottom surgery, sure go ahead and share your thoughts. But I’m just tired of people being excited for bottom surgery and then the comments talk negatively about it.
