An old railroad spike hand-forged and imprinted by a talented blacksmith
Peace vs. pleasure
i hate rainbow flags
always have. such a heartbreak that so many queers started playing along with that shite. now kids think it’s mandatory. now kids demand even more letters be added to the official tablet of Which Things You Can Be - and are desperate to know What That Really Means.
the oppression that you embrace is the worst one.
That said, the ace one is actually not an eyesore. That one, alone. The rest are just ugly. It makes me sad how heated up people get about it.
fuck flags.
you wear them so proudly and free
ancestral colours of ancestral crime
black as ancestral souls
or the rich fertile soil
or the flying ashes and soot
red as the innocent blood
or the crispy fresh apples
or the greedy hot flames
and gold for the riches you stole
from sunny places abroad
from the worker who toils
from Sara and Israel
anon asking about why yellow being first was bad was probably in reference to this post: /post/130697530788/what-does-each-of-the-colors-in-the-nonbinary-flag
How do I not see these things.Anyway idk why that person’s friend specifically does not like the yellow at the top.But I know the reason we don’t use that flag is because I cannot look at yellow for very long.I’m so sad that yellow is the color that represents my gender tbh because i can’t stand yellow, at all. like why are colors gendered, why must the colors i like be forced into some kinda binary so I’m stuck with yellow?Honestly, I feel like the colors representing any genders just furthers this ridiculous BOYS ARE BLUE GIRLS ARE PINK UWU bullshit that we are fighting against.Like lavender,I love that color. It’s soft. The plant has anti-anxiety properties. It’s a damn good color. But nooooo it’s a mix of “boy and girl” because gendering colors. So I can’t have a damn flag with lavender on it. Because anyone who knows shit about nb flags or pride flags is gonna assume I’m either bisexual or I’m a mix of two genders that i am completely removed from.Ya know what? fuck flags. I’m mad now.I’m sorry, anon, you didn’t ask for this.-Mod Virgil
So some people apparently got together and formed a southern pride parade to support the confederate flag. “No big deal” you say, why do I give a damn?
Correction: I couldn’t give less of a damn about the flag, or any flag for that matter. Personally I think countries should focus more on their people instead if a piece of fabric. But regardless, there is a harsh, dark symbolism behind the Confederate flag. What ticks me off is that they’re trying to pass the symbolism of the flag as something as simple as a sign of heritage, or something peaceful and simple. Let me assure you that flag is far from a peaceful symbol.
It represents slavery. It was used in the Civil War as a banner for the side that fought for slavery. It represents everything America claims to stand against now. Like oppression, sexism, racism, and inequality. So saying “the Confederate flag is American” is wrong. The Confederate flag was American. We, or at least the side that had common sense in the Civil War, realized that inequality wasn’t right. After all it’s not called “Land of the Chained” now is it?
Yet they try and make it seem like the flag is something to be proud of. You could just as easily wear a KKK hood and parade down the street saying “we’re peaceful! we’re doing this for our heritage!” You’d basically be doing the same damn thing. Tell me, would it fill your heart with pride to know that one of your ancestors might have been in the KKK? No? Well imagine that.
War and hatred aren’t things to be proud of. They are things to prevent. So stop acting like the past is still 100% relevant, when it’s only about 8% relevant.
But by all means. Wave the flag. Start another war even. After all, in the end, Isn’t that what flags were made for?
who actually gives a shit about a piece of cloth with some different colored stripes like if i dont like my country thats my own fucking business and ill treat this piece of cloth like the representatives of said cloth treat the marginalized groups in my country
