In case you guys were worried that my day might have gotten better after I found out that my cancer has metastasized; at about 10 pm last night, some drunk asshole hit Dolly … twice. He was trying to pull an illegal and ill-advised u-turn on a crowded street in an 80’s-era Class A monstrosity, and literally hit me once, straightened out, then hit me again on the side. My rear bumper is all bent up and there’s a puncture in my side wall. And I’m leaving town tomorrow. It was strange because I’ve never dreamed about that topic in my life...but this dream analysis makes so much sense. I am letting go of everything....everything I can anyway. All the external shit and other human relationships that are no longer the same. I can’t let go of my brother’s memory tho. He was killed by an incompetent/distracted/drunk driver. Who knows what their problem was. They were probably texting...and they got away with cheating my sweet, handsome brother out of his beautiful life. I can’t do anything to bring him back but I think of him all the time. I want to smile when I remember his smile and what his laugh sounded like....but it still makes me cry. So I’m letting go of all the OTHER shit I can’t handle. Life truly is too short.
