what always fascinates me is that we all just assume the egg is for Doumeki when the other egg was something Watanuki gave to Himawari (that ultimately helped protect both of them). So there is a chance the other egg is meant to be used either on Doumeki himself or (and this is my guess) on whatever version of Yuko us haunting the narrative right now. Because she has experience with what a powerful mage could do and I'd wager she is included in the people who could do things they should not. As far as I am concerned she adored Watanuki enough that she would delete her own memories for him. (which would crush me in a very different way but hey, it is also an option)

(ok, first of all? you have no idea how hyped I am about this discussion! thank you for reaching out, feels almost like fandom is still alive and kicking hehe) Didn't Yuuko give it directly to Doumeki and said it was for him to use and ultimately decide? Perhaps a part of this conversation was not only in manga, but in the Rou OVA, but they are considered canon as far as I know. Let's dig in:

The first egg was given to Watanuki as payment, it had nothing to do with Himawari originally. He created something out of it, so he could help her. The egg just had the potential of creation, but it was Watanuki's wish and love that shaped it into a curse-eating cute bird. Doumeki's egg is also a payment for him, since both of them carried the water for Acid Tokyo. Yuuko said that this egg was an opposite to Watanuki's - nothing could be bourn of it, instead it is supposed to destroy (Watanuki's memories of Yuuko). She considered the egg safe with Doumeki, because he always had Watanuki's best interest at heart (arguably, because I do think that Doumeki is over-idealised in fandom; he tend to go unnecessarily self-sacrificial for way longer in the narrative than Watanuki does). But again, we also don't know if Yuuko knew that Watanuki would end up in the void with Tsubasa and what price they would need to pay. If she even knew, he would not be able to live normal life one way on another. Perhaps, she thought that Watanuki will have a chance to move on to a total normalcy, so she wanted to free him from whatever link to magic and his very unfortunate Reed ancestry he had, including her. Perhaps, she underplayed his feelings for her - Yuuko was very shocked by visceral despair of his reaction to her death, after all. But since we know that Watanuki literally had no choice for a normal life (even if he did choose the worse price than Tsubasa), and since we know that Yuuko is a literal cornerstone to the life that he had to built after succeeding the shop - using egg on him would be cruel, harmful and frankly useless. Sakura and Watanuki himself showed that even after losing memory of loved ones, it does not stop hurting. The theory about Yuuko is fun - that perhaps Yuuko needs to erase Yuuko from herself. As far as I know, souls are rebourn without memories in their world, so perhaps there was a glitch and new Yuuko is haunted by old one? And Watanuki will need to destroy her so that the soul will not suffer? That's exactly the CLAMP brand of narrative PAIN Though if the egg can just destroy - whatever and whoever - now that's might be interesting. It could be fun if Doumeki's were just carrying a fragile black-hole-nuclear-bomb-level of weapon, safeguarded by Yuuko's lie that using it might hurt Watanuki (still very weak plot-wise though)
