7, Blisk/Jack
7. A kiss to shut them up
"This is your fault you know."
Blisk rolled his eyes, and kept marching. Hiking. Trudging. Why was it always jungles? Hot, sticky, itchy, sweaty jungles? With bugs, and stinging nettles and all kinds of other weird things that stung or bit. Why couldn't it be a nice tropical beach with white sands and palm trees. And a scotch on a rocks. Certainly not this bullshit with his temporary-truce-frenemy-too-cute-for-his-own-good-little-Hero-Jack-Cooper. This sucked. Blisk didn't care how scenic the walk was. He wasn't getting paid enough to be lectured about his own fuckups by someone he couldn't shoot.
"Aww shut it, Cooper," Blisk grumbled.
"I told you we'd be shot down if we went this way," Cooper went on, ignoring him. Blisk grit his teeth. He had. And he'd been right. And now he was going to be insufferable. "But no. 'Time is money,' you said," the Militia Pilot carried on, doing an utterly insulting impression of the merc's accent and making a flapping gesture with one hand. "'We'll go righ' through', you said. Can't listen to the guy who got sent with you in the first place because he knows the area," Cooper griped. Blisk's lip curled. "Now we're down here, Titan's are up there," his hand thrust across Blisk's chest to point uphill, "and we have a twenty-click walk in the-!"
Cooper cut off with a yelp as Blisk turned on his heel with a snarl and grabbed the shorter man by the shoulders. He bent, baring his teeth briefly, and then leaned in to crush their lips together, kissing him hard. Jack squeaked, his hands flying up to grip Blisk's forearms, but then, after a moment, he relaxed, surprising Blisk by leaning into the kiss and returning it with a little groan. Blisk's heart skipped a beat. Jack's eyelashes fluttered. They were both panting softly by the time they parted. For a moment, both men stared back at each other, flushed and gaping, in awe of what had just transpired. Cooper wore the prettiest blush, even if Blisk knew his own was splotchy and too-pink, his ears hot.
"Um," Blisk cleared his throat. He hadn't expected that. He'd expected a fight. "Ah, uh... Tha's..."
Jack frowned.
"Yeah..." Cooper coughed, but then he frowned. "But you still got us shot down." He flashed a smile when Blisk's face bunched up.
"Aww fuck you, Cooper!"
