My funniest coping mechanism btw is any time I have to diagnose a beloved elderly cat as imminently dying of CKD I like to get up my cat’s blood results from 2 hours before she was euthanised and compare the numbers to see if this new patient is scoring higher than my childhood pet.

#I showed one of my nurses the numbers and she just went ‘oh shit i didnt even know that could be off the scale’.#Urea AND phosphorous were both off the scale! Creatine read like a liver enzyme! Fucking insane values tbh!!#I didnt know urea could go off the scale either. Until my cat’s bloods came back #My boss described me to a long standing client as particularly empathetic for ckd patient owners bc of my own experience and I am!#But i am also lowkey traumatised by my experience and this is how i cope rather than cry over perfect angels getting this disease #That and describing it as the ‘been loved too much for too long’ disease.#Something has to shut down first and for cats its their kidneys.#animal death

Where's the security nets and affordable options for people who will never have a partner/spouse to take care of them? How many people save serious commitment only for people they have a romantic and sexual relationship with? How many people will unquestionably prioritize their sexual and romantic relationship above all other social connections in their lives? And where does that leave the people who don't want that at all, ever?

I’m serious what is a typing lesson? What would they teach you? To type? My brother in Christ it is like writing with a pen but technically easier.

Before home computers were very common, people typically only typed for business-related things, so the only people that actually knew how to use typewriters and word processors were authors, secretaries, accountants, etc. These people would take classes for typing bc it was seen as a skill. This gradually fell out of fashion, much like teaching kids cursive

Typing is only intuitive to gen y & z bc most of us learned through computer games or had someone tell us where to rest our fingers. People who never learned to type use just their index fingers, hit one key, take a long time to find the next letter, hit it with an index finger, and repeat until finished

#27 no typing lessons #we did get taught how to use a keyboard in computers in primary school but i was way ahead of the curve on that one #having a gamer dad helped. And a gamer brother. And being a future gamer myself #topsy and tim go to the supermarket and Pingu Game my beloveds #there was also a spelling typing game that I remember vividly as being very very aesthetically dull but I loved it #i specifically remember playing it instead of watching the doctor who werewolf episode

Medical professionals have CPD requirements but the CPD doesn't have to declare if it’s AI generated. I just got handed a CPD by my parent company where the images are declared to be AI generated and the voice sounds AI, but there’s no declaration as to whether the content is AI generated. Even trying to avoid AI summaries, I might be handed CPD with the belief its up to date information only for it to have been made by the lying machine and never even know.

#How can I trust it if 90% of it is made my a machine and not a human??
