But like, the UK. If anything the tories seemed much more moderate and reasonable on trans issues than the US republicans in the 2010s. And then the entire political and media elite seems to have just gone utterly rabid and made fucking over trans people at every opportunity a unifying initiative across partisan lines. To remarkably little dissent from it seems like anyone with any real scraps of power. What happened?
