"What matters most is how well you walk through the fire." - Charles Bukowski this will always be my go to, my favorite quote, the sentence that echos in my head on days when I just don't think I can anymore. life is hard. adulting is shitty. planning has never been my strong suit, but here I am at 11pm trying to come up with a plan for tomorrow, and the next day, and the next week, and a month from now, and a year from now, and seven years from now. I'm not where I want to be, not even remotely close, honestly. but I'm a lot further than where I was. and for that I'm thankful. my boyfriend is the most amazingly supportive human being I've ever met, and I'm lucky to have him on my team (even though he's a big douchey princess sometimes too 😂). the few friends I've kept have always been in my corner, on my team, cheering me on, supporting me, consistently and without fail have always had my back. I take an immense amount of pride in them, in who they are, in who they're becoming, and without them I wouldn't be half the person I am today. my coworkers and attorneys are amazing people, and I'm constantly learning new things and I'm grateful for the opportunity to be in the position I'm in right now even if I am low-key (😂) stressing about it. I've walked through a bunch of different metaphorical fires in my life from my parents' deaths, to my dog getting sick and ultimately having to be put down, to losing the one person who made me be able to trust people again; honestly I don't know how I made it through, but I did. I'm constantly trying to change the person I am, but not because I dislike who I am, because I want to be a better version of myself. #charlesbukowski #bukowski #whatmattersmost #quotes #quotestoliveby #fuckingbelieveinyourself #goals #accomplished
