Bill Nelson says he's in Puerto Rico today helping Gov. Ricardo Roselló resist 'punitive' austerity measures being proposed by a federal control board (la junta). But then, why did he vote to create that board in the first place? I asked him in this video. The board was created under Pres. Barack Obama in 2016. Its seven voting members are not elected by Puerto Ricans but have the power to mandate budget and spending plans and oversee the islands finances.
