I AM SICK OF BEING TOLD MY PASSION ISN'T ENOUGH.
My English class has us doing this vocational research project on a career we actually care about—I chose TECH ENTREPRENEURSHIP—but then they drop the catch:
YOU HAVE TO PUT A "RELIGIOUS ASPECT" INTO IT.
Are you fucking serious right now? I spend my time trying to innovate, trying to build something real and functional (like a platform that actually addresses real-world problems), and my work isn't valid unless I shoehorn in some archaic, institutionalized talking point?!
It's the ultimate hypocrisy. They want us to be successful and high-achieving, but only on their terms. They want the modern career path, but they demand it wear their uniform and march to their drum.
My current project has ETHICS and RESPONSIBILITY—like making sure I ban 18+ ads on it because I believe in protecting kids. That's a moral code! That's STEWARDSHIP! It's better than half the "Christian" businesses out there, but apparently, it doesn't count unless I wrap it in enough Bible verses to please the grading committee.
The whole thing is just forcing a square peg (REALITY) into a round hole (THEIR NARROW ASS WORLDVIEW). It's exhausting. I'm fighting against the world just to be FREELY ME, and now I have to fight my own homework to even submit the damn paper.
